Editor, for write code or tags of HTML we required a tool from which we can write the code and give the command to our related compiler or interpreters.
For this purpose, we have lots of text or code editors and according to our convenience, we can use any editors.
we list some text editors following.
- Notepad: notepad is a free and default tool that comes with OS. and we can use this for initially.

- Aptana Studio 3
- Sublime Text
- Phase 5 HTML editor

HTML tags are like a set of commands or keywords that incorporated in HTML, which defines how web browsers will display the content and structure of webpages.
Mainly HTML has 2 types of tags, 1. Opening Tags and 2. Closing Tags. an opening portion and closing portion. and any text is written in between both tags that show effects based on the working nature of tags.
Example; <HTML> is Opening Tag
</HTML> Closing Tag that define by / slash.
Let’s create our first HTML Page.
First off, we have to open our text editor, which we discussed last. please install the editor if you did not do till now. Once our editor open, we have to create a new page, a blank page will open on the editor and we have to initiate our code.
From there you need to layout your page with the following tags.
<!DOCTYPE html> — This tag specifies the language you will write on the page. In this case, the language is HTML 5.
<html> — This tag signals that from here on we are going to write in HTML code.
<head> — This is where all the metadata for the page goes — stuff mostly meant for search engines and other computer programs.
<body> — This is where the content of the page goes.
